Paintball Markers

So you’re interested in paintball? Well, this is a fun adrenaline heightening sport. If you’re just getting started, then you’re probably wondering what kind of paintball marker to buy. There are a lot of different paintball markers available, including electro, semi, and mechanical paintball guns. It’s hard to know what you’re buying so, we’ll help you out.

One of the most common types of markers is the stock class paintball gun. This is different from your traditional pump guns from the standpoint that it has a feed port. With this port you have to feed the tank with 10 round tubes to fire 10 rounds. Instead of using one large air tank, it uses very small 12 gram air cylinders. A lot of people call these “rock and cock” paintball markers. They call these guns that because you have to rock the marker forward to feed paint ball into the gun. Then you have to cock the gun to shoot.

Another popular model of paintball gun is called the direct feed pump paintball marker. Typically, there is a central paintball feeder on the top of the marker. A lot of the semi automatic markers use the direct feed set-up. These guns usually have an ASA adapter. Most, if not all, air and nitrogen tanks should fit this kind of gun. The semi-automatic paintball marker works such that every time you pull the trigger, the gun resets for the next shot. This is much simpler and quicker than the stock class paintball gun.

There is another type of semi-automatic paintball marker called the closed bolt semi-automatic. This type of marker reengages or re-cocks the gun after every shot. This will improve and increase your fire rate. The closed bolt system actually uses air to bring the bolt back to loading position.

The electro nomadic semi-automatic paintball marker has an electronic unit connecting the trigger to the firing mechanism. So, every time you pull the trigger, the circuit board is telling the paintball gun to fire. The electro nomadic paintball gun allows for a higher and faster fire rate. It also helps you sustain that rate of fire until you run out of paintballs. Typically, with the nomadic paintball guns, you can switch between full auto and burst mode. Beware that a lot of paintball courses do not allow electro nomadic paintball markers, because these guns have such a high rate of fire.

Hopefully, the description of the different paintball markers is helpful in making your decision. If you have money to spend, then any of the semi-automatic paintball markers is the way to go. Before you buy an electro nomadic paintball gun, ask the field owners in your area whether or not they allow that type of marker. If you are on a budget, then the stock class paintball gun is your choice. With the stock class marker, you will not have the same fire rate as the semi-automatics, but you will still have just as much fun. Be safe and don’t forget to wear all of the necessary protective equipment.
